According to the U.S. Dietary Guidelines, the recommended daily intake (RDA) for protein is about 0.36 grams per pound

For example, if you weigh 140 lbs, you would need around 51 g of protein per day.

If you consume 2,500 calories per day and follow the guideline that 10–35% of calories should come from protein, that would equal about 63–219 g of protein per day.
